Algiers, July 17, 2025 — The 44th Annual General Meeting of Shelter Afrique Development Bank in Algeria was marked by a memorable Gala Dinner, celebrating achievements and honoring key contributors to Africa’s housing sector reforms. Among the distinguished guests, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, received special recognition for his strong commitment to transforming the continent’s housing landscape.
Dr. Senesie was presented with a Shelter Afrique plaque acknowledging his role in supporting housing infrastructural development in his country. His leadership has been instrumental in driving legal, administrative, and governance reforms that have significantly attracted housing investments to Sierra Leone. Notably, under his stewardship, the TAF Salone Affordable Housing Project among others have emerged as a flagship initiative, providing affordable housing solutions to thousands of Sierra Leoneans using “Public – Private Partnership” agreements.
Since assuming office, Dr. Senesie has been dedicated to creating an enabling environment for sustainable housing development. His proactive approach and active knowledge production continue to inspire progress and innovation in the sector.
In response, the Minister reaffirms Sierra Leone’s commitment to advancing housing development across Sierra Leone and the continent.
